Welcome to Buena Vista
Buena Vista means (Good View) in Spanish and you can see why. You are in the midst of no less than 10 mountains over 14,000 feet. If that doesn’t get you excited I don’t know what will. Mt. Princeton stands vigilant over the town, but you can use Buena Vista as a base for single day climbs of each of the 15 Sawatch Range 14ers.
If you like rafting this is among the most serious white water you’ll find in the country. If you would like to enjoy something not quite so adventures the aspens in the fall are beautiful. Biking, hiking and camping are also a favorite of many.
What ever you do hold on tight because it’s gonna be a ride.
